What is executive dysfunction?
It’s a symptom that disrupts your brain’s ability to control your thoughts, emotions and behaviors and is common with ADHD. The main executive functions are working memory, cognitive flexibility and inhibition control.
Examples of executive dysfunction include:
- Planning or carrying out a task because you can’t visualize the finished product or goal
- Struggling to transition from one task to another
- Getting distracted partway through a task
- Having trouble explaining your thought process clearly

About Me
Stephanie works with 1:1 with high school and college students (and their families), as well as adults who struggle with executive function challenges and helps them organize their time, space, materials and information.
She has a bachelor’s degree in special education from the University of Hartford and a master’s degree in learning disabilities from American University. In her spare time, Stephanie loves to travel, cook and bake with her daughter and make chocolate candy. She lives with her husband just outside Washington, D.C.
